A walk west along New Causeway then right onto New Causeway, down this quiet lane to the canal, then a left turn along the canal and loop back through fields to the church and then to the cottage via The Green.
From the top of the slope just past the church there’s a fabulous panoramic view of the Trent valley. You can see Nottingham on the horizon to the left and Newark to the right.
Thirsty dogs can usually find a drink at the last house on Jericho Lane.
